Receiving: “Don’t even know you’re back there.” Our standard - minimize subtle movements, manipulate on contact, and remain as quiet as possible!

Our team > my team…our staff > my staff…our girls > my girls…Never liked use of “my” when describing a team. Us, we, ours. Feeling of ownership and control or sole responsibility for a player doesn’t taste good coming out. To me anyway. 🤷🏼

Back at Va Tech for camp! Gonna be a hot one, but working with great coaches, current players and some of the best, top tier prospects is hard to beat!

Donating to my school’s library and sort of thinking it’s hard to believe it’s been five years since publication. Lots of good information especially for youth/HS coaches!

Not getting a phone call on Sept 1…or next week…or next month…or until 2025 doesn’t mean dreams/goals are shot. Way too much anxiety and sitting around waiting for those calls. You’ll find your fit, families/players. Enjoy the now.

1. Leave pop times off your profile. 2. If it says you throw a 1.7, you better throw it. 3. You likely don’t. (I’ve seen some “1.7” be 2.2+)4. We don’t sit with a stopwatch to determine worth.

Hitters….free advice coming. The most important part of ur body, while hitting, are your eyes! If u keep ur eyes as still as possible, ur chances of correct pitch recognition, go way up. How do we do that? Ur base!!! As solid as possible. If u limit lower body movement, eyes

First time I’ve conducted a clinic focused solely on throwing - great group of young ladies and outstanding help from coaches and current players!

Players - most are attending camps this time of the year but haven’t played in games in weeks/months. Don’t underestimate a coach’s ability to ID your tools even if you’re not “successful” in your reps. And as always, how you respond to poor reps is paramount, too! We see it all!

Coaching catchers based on strengths, body mechanics, and abilities is coaching. Cloning every catcher to look and do the same thing is for fragile egos. And they’re always loudest, hiding behind their limited knowledge and IQ. Coach humans, not posters. Loudest isn’t best.

The level of self praise and arrogance by coaches on social media is vomit-worthy. Give more credit to the kid and less credit to yourself. (Without the subtle guise of “actually it was me.”)

Knees or feet is based on pitch location and/or individual athlete efficacy. Production > style. Some up, some down and our job to enhance not clone.
