1/3 Exciting News! We're hiring at all levels immediately for our lab U of Utah Department of Neurobiology Join us in cutting-edge research at the intersection of neuroscience and chemical biology! We aim to explore how neuropeptides modulate behavior and physiology. Pls RT!

Two Heys lab posters in the AM session 10/6 Society for Neuroscience (SfN)! Erin Bigus will present on hippocampal learning of temporal experience, from early shaping to weeks of training on a complex task. Hyunwoo Lee will present recordings of MEC time and grid cells across different tasks.

Out in its final form! Congrats John Wen Ben Sorscher (borsch.github.io) Dr. Emily A. Aery Jones Surya Ganguli! Highlights post bioRxiv: Check out new ED Fig. 3 for open field and VR recordings of the same grid cells; All data available at Mendeley Data nature.com/articles/s4158…

Wanted to once again encourage anyone on the job market to apply U of Utah Department of Neurobiology ! Starting my lab here has been a dream come true - simply an amazing research comuunity, with incredible students, colleagues, resources and mentoring for new PIs! utah.peopleadmin.com/postings/169492

📣 New Cai Lab paper in Cell Reports! We show that a stressful experience can produce different types of memories! We also find that the basolateral amygdala (BLA) & ventral hippocampus (vHC) differentially contribute to these memories 🧠cell.com/cell-reports/f… More ⬇️ (1/6)

1/ 🚨 Thrilled to share the final version of our paper in eLife - the journal! Both LC & VTA pathways release dopamine in CA1, but how might they uniquely modulate CA1 activity? Using VR, we imaged these pathways in mice to uncover their distinct roles. doi.org/10.7554/eLife.… #Neuroscience

“How does local circuit architecture shape spatial representations in the hippocampal CA3?” ✨Excited to share my first postdoc work in Attila Losonczy lab Columbia University's Zuckerman Institute now online as a preprint.✨ Check the link below👇 biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Our latest research, led by Antoine Madar, on what #SynapticPlasticity rules shape CA1 and CA3 representations in the hippocampus during familiarization has just been published in Nature Neuroscience! Read here: nature.com/articles/s4159…

Excited to share my postdoctoral work, with Ilana Witten and Scott Bolkan at Princeton Neuroscience Institute. TL;DR - we show that two basal ganglia pathways oppositely affect decision-making by very precise control of cortical subpopulations that encode accumulated sensory evidence.
