Jennifer's new paper in Bone & Joint Research shows that Bi-UKA has similar tibial eminence fracture risk to medial UKA. The risk is much lower than that of bi-cruciate retaining TKA. To minimise risk, protect anterior medial bone and avoid overstuffing. online.boneandjoint.org.uk/doi/full/10.13… MSk Lab

The risk of tibial eminence avulsion fracture associated with Bi-UKA is similar to UKA-M, suggesting that any perceived risk of avulsion should not weigh heavily in decision-making for knee arthroplasty procedures. #Fracture #Knee ow.ly/KqcF50Kar3R

It looks like an in vivo result - but it's not. Nupur and Kostas's new paper shows that bioreactors enable bone remodelling around implants to be tested in the lab. Ideal for optimising novel implant fixation technologies with lower animal burden & cost. doi.org/10.3389/fbioe.…

Tom's new paper in Scientific Reports shows how machine learning can create knee implant designs - automatically - from a set of patient's CT scans. This method is already being used by our spinout company OSSTEC ! 😀😀 doi.org/10.1038/s41598…
