The ICRC to AfricanUnion briefed African Union Political Affairs Peace and Security on the humanitarian situation across Africa, calling for an urgent action to uphold #IHL, #Safeguard #Humanitarian #Space, and #ProtectCivilians. Member States were also urged to join the Global #IHL Initiative.


Yesterday,ICRC to AfricanUnion held a productive exchange with H.E Nakagawa NAKAGAWA Tsutomu, AmbJapan to African Union on preparations for #TICAD9. Discussion focused on collaboration around an ICRC-led side event on the humanitarian impact of #landmines with a focus on Africa.
