4 weeks post total-proctoclectomy. Recovery is slow, pain still requires morphine and repeated UTIs due to bladder dysfunction are irritating. But wounds are healing (perineum cuts are no fun), and stamina is returning. My ileostomy has immeasurably helped my quality of life

Although much remains to be discovered, there is fantastic progress in researching the reasons behind the steady rise of early onset colorectal cancer. #NeverTooYoung

Very interesting! While #LynchSyndrome greatly increases risk of developing #ColorectalCancer, some people with it never develop this type of cancer and others do, some multiple times.... Why? Maybe gut bacteria has some answers! 🧐

I was surprised to read this. From Dr Ronan Glynn, now working in the commercial sector for EY Ireland. Advocating that "a faster, flexible process for funding adult vaccines should be created", and that "in conclusion, the case for prioritising adult immunisation is clear.

Living with Stage 4 #ovariancancer & a terminal diagnosis can feel as if you are carrying a weight. However there are times you can find the #Joy and let that weight float away. #Galway #positiveliving #hope 🩵

Never liked the "Fight" terminology often used around cancer patients. Cancer cares not about attitudes, it only succumbs to good treatments. The real fight is ensuring every patient has timely access to those treatments without a fight they don't have the time & energy for.
