Dr. Stefanie Tompkins takes the reins today as 23rd director of DARPA. Since Feb 2018, Tompkins has been the VP for research and tech transfer at Colorado School of Mines, and was at DARPA from 2007-2017. Dr. Peter Highnam, the recent acting director, will continue on as deputy director.
