In a new paper in #IMAFungus, Thünen et al. describe a haploid #newspecies, Epichloë scottii, an #endophyte of the perennial grass Melica uniflora. The assembled #genome of the 7 chromosomes suggests the #fungus may not make alkaloid #mycotoxins. imafungus.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11…
