The Louisville, KY and surrounding southern Indiana region is witnessing the emergence of Brood XIV of 17-year periodical cicadas. These insects (genus Magicicada) have spent the past 17 years underground as nymphs and are emerging in massive numbers to complete their life cycle.

CHECK YOUR TREE MONTH: BOX TREE MOTH - The box tree moth, Cydalima perspectalis. To date, we have not identified this pest within Indiana. The caterpillars are ravenous feeders and will cause significant damage to ornamental boxwoods when present.
