DCAF & International Peace Support Training Centre -Kenya co-delivered the level 2 pilot course on #SSR & #DDR in Nairobi, #Kenya. Sessions tackled: 🔸 SSR as conflict prevention 🔸 Post-conflict reforms 🔸 Linking SSR & DDR in practice 🔸 Negotiation dynamics Theory was tested, challenged & applied.
2/3 The #Kenya VCDF was joined by the 🇬🇧 Defence adviser to 🇰🇪 UK in Kenya 🇬🇧🇰🇪 , Brigadier Olly Bryant, who highlited UK's support, stating... "The UK and our partners are deeply committed to the stability and success of our African colleagues... We are honoured to stand with you..."
3/3 🇬🇧 BPST(A) and the International Peace Support Training Centre -Kenya have come together with the support of the UN Mine Action Service - UNMAS , and the 🇰🇪 National Police Service National Police Service-Kenya Bomb Disposal Unit to make the conference a success. Over 2️⃣5️⃣ countries and 6️⃣0️⃣ plus Defence stakeholders present.
