Important Announcement: IWGB members at a very relevant housing-focused 🏘️ charity are standing up ✊ against precarious contracts and an increasingly toxic working environment. Watch this space for a big announcement in July 👀

Last saturday we had our 2025 AGM! It was great to hear about the success we’ve had across the branch and in so many different workplaces. We also welcomed and re-welcomed members to our branch committee!

In yet another moment of great dignity for charity bosses 🙄 Labour MP and former Medical Aid For Palestinians CEO Melanie Ward, abstained on the vote to proscribe Palestine Action.

Don’t ever let charity bosses tell you that improving your conditions will hurt ‘the cause’. Studies show time and time again that better treatment for workers improves outcomes. Great results from the 4 Day Week Foundation campaign

An increasing number of people are being forced into reliance on an overworked charity sector due to poverty. The political class is unwilling to take steps to reduce poverty. Yet they are also unwilling to provide additional funding for the services that ameliorate it.

The charity sector is likley to see a wave of redundancies over the next year. Whether you want to save your job and the service you provide - or ensure that you get a fair redundancy package - start organising now.

Bosses and senior leadership cannot continue to sweep this disgusting behavior under the rug. They need to begin treating the safety of workers as a priority, especially for women and other marginalised genders.

Half my feed is images of Palestinians starved to death by Israel. The other half is people being dragged away by police for opposing it. I’ve never felt more sickened by our political class.

New reporting on the security state's co-option of the third sector by Declassified UK. It's absolutely atrocious that the darkest parts of the state are using charities to spy on the community. declassifieduk.org/grenfell-survi…

The Charity Commision have completely discredited themselves by approving of this. How dare they allow two ‘charities’ to give tax free money to the colonisation of Palestine. theguardian.com/society/2025/j…

A month ago we teased a big announcement about workers at a housing-focused charity. Since then management have taken a more constructive approach to negotiating with the union. On this basis, workers have decided (for now at least) to pause the announcement.
