I always have my kick at -12db when I produce and my bass about -18db sometimes louder sometimes a little lower. I mix the rest around these two. In some rare cases when I want a really loud kick I might go up to -10db. #mixing #mixdown #producertips #production #edmproduction

During mastering I often throw on a Match EQ and check against 1 or 2 reference tracks. This gives perspective on the differences between your mix and the references. Keep it subtle on the master and correct bigger problems in the mix though. #mastering #eq #mixdown
