Dogs with elevated ALT are unlikely to die from liver disease And a normal ALT does not exclude liver disease What’s true for our dogs is also true for us

So much to say on #ESSENCE Placebo response = sampling variability, see cghjournal.org/article/S1542-… Also, improvements in steatosis at least are mediated through weight loss, see jhep-reports.eu/article/S2589-… Elliot Tapper

Important data in #MASH but probably not the game changer some think 75% of patients had a potential indication for SEMA, BMI>30 or T2DM GLP1RA is a foundational treatment for patients with metabolic multimorbidity If initiated for those reasons, MASH indication not needed

This was very much a team effort! The heavy lifting was done by Katrina from Leeds Institute of Medical Research Post-grads and Richard Parker Much value in reproducing work in this context, highlighting the role of #alcohol in driving liver disease Leeds Teaching Hospitals

Privileged to be part of this wide-ranging discussion #EASLStudio at the #EASLCongress We explored lots of the important issues around screening for liver disease and why it is critical that we build the evidence base to support it Free to watch back, it's worth the time!
