What a way to wrap up women's history month! KU Natural History Museum celebrated women is STEM by highlighting the amazing work done by women here at KU, and it was a blast! So much great representation from our graduate students, too!

Check out triangulaR, my new R package for building triangle plots! I explore how sample size of parental pops and allele frequency difference thresholds influence hybrid index and interclass heterozygosity estimates, see more here: github.com/omys-omics/tri… biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

The KU Mammalogy Division’s latest field expedition took them to Panama! 🇵🇦 Their work surveying small mammal communities is part of the U.S. National Science Foundation Predictive Intelligence for Pandemic Prevention Project.

I've been X-quiet lately because things have been busy! The lab survived the Mammal Meetings in Boulder 🤓 (No one got covid this year?!?!! Love that!)

Last month, KU Mammalogy toured the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Black-Footed Ferret Conservation Center, which supported the development of the museum's 5th floor exhibit. The team saw captive-bred ferrets preparing to be released into the wild & Elizabeth Ann — the first black-footed ferret clone!
