We were all over this week! 1. #ISRR12 posters Borjana Arsova & J. Kant Root Dynamics Group - IBG2 & Bartolo Giuseppe Dimattia Silvio Salvi + Maya 🐾🐹🦔💫 talk 2. Lectures Revista Redagrícola course microbes/agriculture 3. field trial talk Delivering Sustainable Wheat John Innes Centre Breeder's day by our ambassador Frederick Warren

Did you know: Sowing contaminated or infected seeds not only spreads #pathogens but can also reduce yields significantly by 15–90% ( from doi: doi.org/10.1007/978-98…) See how we are trying to change that Forschungszentrum Jülich | @[email protected] 👇

Hey, I spot our Root Group member Maurene in the middle of the second 📸, working with Johannes Postma. I hope the RootEdNetwork meeting went great.

🗣 📢 Just out: Benefits & limits of biological nitrification inhibitors for 🌾 #nitrogen uptake & the environment, by Christian Kuppe and Johannes Postma . nature.com/articles/s4159… #BNI Forschungszentrum Jülich | @[email protected]

Spot the Molise colli... reasurring that it looks the same on the John Innes Centre EJP Soil - WISH-ROOTS field. EJP SOIL

Congratulations Sebastian&the_plants for a successful PhD defense! Great collaborative project with Borjana Arsova and Uli Schurr on the establishment of phage-based biocontrol of plant pathogens. The @ibg2Root team is preparing for another #Root #Phenotyping exp. in the #JPPC automated rhizotrons facility Forschungszentrum Jülich | @[email protected]. This time #wheat recombinant inbred line population for the EJP Soil - WISH-ROOTS project (EJP SOIL). 🤞That the little 🤖 keep working as they should.

Today we took the final #soil samples from our EJP Soil - WISH-ROOTS field (EJP SOIL) in campus Klein Altendorf. Now it is measure , measure, and analyze as far as field work is concerned. Can u guess what we r up to? Root Dynamics Group - IBG2 Forschungszentrum Jülich | @[email protected] Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn #soilhealth #roots

I made an overview of the #phenotyping platforms 4 #plant #microbe #interaction studies that we use Root Dynamics Group - IBG2. 👇 The most controlled system #EcoFab is on top, while the most similar to nature #rhizotrons and #field🚜 at the bottom. Check out the + and - for each. Forschungszentrum Jülich | @[email protected]

paul mary williams Root Dynamics Group - IBG2 Forschungszentrum Jülich | @[email protected] I have not used aeroponics before, hydroponics is well established @IBG2Root. Both the standard Araponics trays (we use 4 Brachypodium & wheat ;-)). Also #EcoFab is hydroponics system. This is what allows the fine control. #Root architecture is different than in #soil

We are so proud of Dr. Congcong Zheng 🎓who successfully defended his #PhD thesis today at Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . Congratulations 🎉 and well deserved. #Rice #phosphorus
