We had a great November here at the Idaho Humane Society with 567 adoptions! Our Pet Food Pantry did a tremendous job supporting people and their pets in need, with a total of 7300 pounds distributed.

Idaho lost a tremendous animal welfare advocate yesterday, Hy Kloc. He was a dear friend to the Idaho Humane Society and served as the president of the IHS Board. While in office as an elected Idaho Representative, he championed legislation to protect animals.

2) Hy Kloc worked to secure the passing of the Pet-Friendly Plate in the Idaho Legislature. He has left his mark across Idaho and will be greatly missed. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the Kloc family.

This time of year, many of us are getting packages and meals delivered to our homes. Two drivers were bit on Saturday alone! Please make sure to keep your dogs in a safe place so they do not chase or attack delivery drivers.

This year, the Idaho Humane Society has supported rescues and shelters across Idaho with free pet food! Thanks to our amazing donors, we provided 34,171 pounds of pet food to organizations in need. Make a resolution in 2023 to hold a pet-food drive for IHS!

Raider almost lost his life the day two other dogs attacked him. He suffered several lacerations, a large wound on his ear, and a badly injured leg. His owner turned to the Idaho Humane Society, where Raider could receive surgery, care, and the chance to heal.
