We use the closing mechanism to build a gripper based on several V-actuators connected in a closed loop. We predict the mechanical response of the star, optimize the geometry and maximize the contraction and stiffness.

We increase the efficiency of the gripper by stacking several stars and increasing the friction with the object by covering the corners with an elastomer. The clamp can lift heavy and irregularly shaped objects thanks to the high bending stiffness of the inflated tubes.
