Today the APPG & Lord Trees held an event with MSF UK & Centre for Applied Human Rights to raise the profile of the neglected disease #noma which mainly affects children under the age of 7 living in conditions of poverty & which has a staggering untreated mortality rate of 90% in the first 2 weeks 🧵

In late 2023, the World Health Organization (WHO) officially added #noma to the list of neglected tropical diseases. The Swiss TPH and University of Basel both played a key role in this.
