This is a news story suitable for everyone interested in science who does not like the science lingo - hopefully fun to read!

It was a pleasure to see that so many visitors at #EUResearchersNight had fun with the webcam microscopes and were curious to chat about our research on #platelets. Thank you RCSI SIM for organising!

Hello ATVB: An AHA Journal, it seems that the Supplement for the following article is not linked online: atvb.ahajournals.org/lookup/suppl/d…. Would be great to have the methods for this paper!

First chapter but last paper of my #PhD published! Many thanks to my co-authors especially Smita Patil and SchoenLab for supporting this work after my departure Myosin affects platelets beyond contractility with a suggested role in GPVI signalling: doi.org/10.1016/j.rpth…

Great to see the main work from Martin's PhD published in RPTH! sciencedirect.com/science/articl… Main take-aways #1: Myosin activity contributes to the redistribution of GPVI surface receptors upon platelet activation. Reading Platelet Labs Dr Martin Kenny Viola Vogel RCSI School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences

Main take-away #2: Myosin defects are easily missed when not looking at platelet contractility. This has implications for how we test platelet function in the lab.

Delighted to have both benefited from RCSI's StAR programme as a lecturer as well as having been involved in this paper led by @shanedesselle that puts the programme into the wider context of academic succession planning. RCSI School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences
