UNC and Oklahoma coming up here in the winner-take-all final game of the regional. Arizona awaits in the supers. Ryan Lynch (4-1, 2.92 ERA) starts for the Tar Heels against the Sooners’ Reid Hensley (4-1, 2.59 ERA). Carolina is the visiting team for the second day in a row.

Hunter Stokely smacks a two-run double with two outs, and UNC is out of the gate in a hurry here. 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning, kept alive by an Oklahoma throwing error that would’ve gotten the Sooners out of the frame.

And there’s more two-out damage from Alex Madera. He slaps a run-scoring single and the Tar Heels are ahead 3-0 after their first six batters of the game.

Drew Dickerson, whose homer put Oklahoma ahead to stay last night, launches a two-run bomb the other way to right field. Sooners cut UNC’s lead to 3-2 here in the bottom of the second inning.

UNC outfielder Tyson Bass with a great running grab in the right-center gap on a liner off the bat of Oklahoma slugger Easton Carmichael to get the Tar Heels out of the second inning. Carolina leads 3-2.

Tar Heels making things happen here in the top of the third. Alex Madera’s reaches on a bases-loaded dribbler to make the lead 4-2 with one out.

What a regional for Sam Angelo at the bottom of the Carolina order. Run-scoring single with two outs puts the Tar Heels up 6-2. Two nights ago, Angelo blasted his third and fourth home runs of the season.

More two-out damage. Carter French bounces a run-scoring single back through the middle and the lead is 7-2 now. Sooners making another pitching change here in the top of the third. Five of the Tar Heels’ seven runs have been produced with two outs.

UNC has scored 23 runs against Oklahoma across the last three days, and 16 of them have been plated with two outs.

Freshman right-hander Ryan Lynch is through four innings here with four strikeouts. He has scattered four hits and two walks. He went four innings in the ACC Tournament championship game when Carolina clobbered Clemson.

That’s all for UNC freshman Ryan Lynch, who leaves to a standing ovation here in the bottom of the sixth inning. Six strikeouts across a season-high five innings of work for Lynch, who lasted 82 pitches. Tar Heels still lead 8-2.
