Let's go to ancient Philippopolis - Modern Plovdiv in #Bulgaria. The Irene (Greek goddess of peace) peristyle house occupied a whole insula. The house was built over the ruins of several other houses destroyed by the Goth in 251 AD.

One of the Funbo Runestones features a triquetra-or stylized Hrungnishjarta? Its use on a memorial stone as well as alongside a sacrificial scene links it to the cycle of death and renewal. The inscription reads “Thane and Gunnar raised this stone after Veðr, their brother.” 1/2
