Across our cohort, we see poor wellbeing as a significant barrier to employment and building skills for work. That's why we have all trained as Mental Health First Aiders, offering support that can encourage positive mental health in young people across LCR.

Our Intern of the Week spotlights Caitlin. Caitlin completes her first placement at Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse theatres today and has developed in confidence and working in a team. Her new placement at Art In Liverpool will further support her to move into creative work. Well done Caitlin 👏

We're spotlighting a new partner today, as we welcome a new cohort of learners at Granby ALC. Yesterday, the cohort mapped out an entire day of activity at National Museums Liverpool World Museum, planning travel, activities, routine and even lunch! Employability plus fun 🙌

Emilia came to us with an interest in social care. She completed a ten week placement at Sedgemoore Hub and has worked closely with her coach to apply for paid employment. We are so pleased to share that she has just accepted a role with YesCare. Congratulations Emilia! 😃

Ending another busy week on a high at Liverpool Intern to Work. A great experience filled with opportunity at Liverpool FC today where learners got to speak to over 30 employers with vacancies, recruiting now. Plenty of tailored applications with coaches coming next week!

We saw four learners embarked on their employment journey with Home Bargains yesterday, with a supported store tour & insight session highlighting the brand values and roles available. A huge thank you to the regional and local teams involved for giving their time⭐

Our Intern of the week is Aimee. Aimee has completed 15 weeks with Beechley Stables RDA , taking on additional hrs & responsibilities. Last week, Aimee confidently supported in a dressage show, even winning her own rosette. The development in confidence on program has been incredible.

Congratulations to our intern Hasheem, who has secured work with The Reader Hasheem has only been on program for just 5 short week The Learning Foundry but with the support of his coach, has secured paid employment in this short space of time. We are very proud!

Culminating our commitment to supporting schools with impartial careers advice surrounding supported employment this @NationalCareersWeek2025. Lovely to speak with so many engaged learners at Bank View High about their aspirations & how supported employment could work for them.

Georgia has developed hugely in confidence & grown in skills & self-assurance. Her journey proves that with the right support, anyone can unlock their potential & take control of their career path. Georgia completes placement in 3 weeks & has two interview opportunities ahead👏

Our employability support continues to mirror reality, pushing learners out of their comfort zone. A huge thank you to Shannon and Robertson for offering each learner on our The Learning Foundry program a mock interview with feedback on answers, preparing for life after program.

Meet Joe! Joe joined us at Liverpool City College as an intern in September 2024. Starting his placement at Brownlow Health in November 2024, Joe has worked hard to understand NHS systems & practices. He has accepted the offer of a paid contract working on site. Congrats Joe!

We're expanding our placements internally, too. Our Adult Learning Centres are a wonderful, supportive environment for interns to build confidence, work in smaller teams & develop their knowledge of how Liverpool City Council delivers a learning experience to learners across the city.
