Not everyone’s judgement is based on what they personally get out of it, John. This is about restoring the profession and the NHS having and keeping the doctors it needs. Good pay and conditions = more doctors able to make better decisions = better outcomes for patients.

David Rogers That’s for the negotiators to decide. What Wes Streeting has proposed will take 20 years to get to full pay restoration. Doctors were balloted and decided that was an unacceptable timeframe.

Doctors' assistants are earning almost 47% more than a fully qualified doctor in London. Even with full pay restoration, doctors would still be earning less than their assistants. Paying doctors £22.67/hr would still be a bargain for this country.
