Great achievement, girls. And lots of the squad still available in 25/26 too.

Immensely proud of our Ipswich School Under 16 Boys' Indoor Hockey team: five wins from five in Regionals yesterday (30 goals for, 4 conceded) with National Finals to come this weekend.

With apologies to the other five schools in which I have worked, the eventual Concert on Friday night was the best/highest-quality school Music event that I have ever attended in 25 years in education. 130+ pupils involved. And the Symphony Orchestra was especially sensational.

Much fun was had by all at our Chapel Choir Christmas Dinner tonight- including a table quiz and fun attendance raffle. We also awarded our TOP chorister prize for attendance and participation to the amazing Lucy P.

Brave, committed and talented team. Thank you for travelling all that way. With so many of that group returning next year, you will be quite a handful in the next couple of seasons.

Recognition of what was a remarkable 23/24: 84% A*-B at A Level, two national Cricket titles for our girls, and a Pro Corda triumph for our Junior String Quartet (and - of course - much, much more).

So, so close. Eight schools at the start of the day, came down to two by the end. And the boys were shaded 1-2 by an outstanding Whitgift Sport side in the Final. National Runners-Up - a fantastic achievement.

Good luck to all involved with Ipswich School Music performing in London later. What a Michaelmas Term it has been.

England Age Group Squads Announced 2024-25. Congratulations to Evie Younger Ipswich School Year 11 and Imogen Papworth-Heidel Ipswich School Year 10, named respectively in England U18 and U16 Hockey squads.

Richly deserved mention for the Ipswich School 1st XV in the NextGenXV ‘Top Five Schools of the Weekend’ - eleven wins on the bounce since late September. Fantastic resilience and togetherness.
