I was honored to speak and congratulate the incredible leaders at Literacy Assistance Center 2024 Literacy & Justice Leadership Institute Celebration! This program empowers leaders to champion language justice, build community power, and promote literacy as a tool for change.

We celebrated the first cohort of our Literacy & Justice Leadership Institute, where leaders from 10 NYC adult education programs shared projects that strengthen their work through a 'literacy for justice' framework. Thanks to Council Member Hanif (Council Member Shahana Hanif) for attending!

It was an honor to sit on this panel with these leaders and have the opportunity to call for greater stakeholder input, community voice, and community representation in the procurement process; & special TY to cmjuliewon.bsky.social and Justin Brannan for all their support for adult lit ed.
