Recently, the 🚨Wicklow Rapid Response🚨 doctor and National Ambulance Service 🇮🇪🚑 transported a patient directly to Mater Hospital Trauma For seriously injured patients, transport to definitive care (not necessarily the closest hospital) is possible. Trauma Access Protocols will form a key part of #TraumaCareIreland.

We’ve been a bit quiet on social media lately, but not behind the scenes. WWRR continues to respond to high acuity calls on behalf of National Ambulance Service 🇮🇪🚑, delivering pre hospital critical care including anaesthesia and blood transfusion. We will have some exciting news soon too…!

Delighted to present our experience with pre hospital blood at the IEQAS conference today with NAS Education - East and the Transfusion Laboratory SVUH Trauma Unit Since 2019, we have provided pre hospital blood transfusion to 12 patients; 21 units of red cells and 17 units of plasma.
