Took some time this weekend to reflect on the amazing work of SBA over the last four years. It truly was the privilege of a lifetime to lead this incredible team.

As head of SBA, I pushed the agency to be entrepreneurial: to pivot, adapt, & scale. In my last year as administrator, we provided >100,000 financings to businesses & made key changes & investments — all while remaining independent. Small businesses need an independent voice.

The White House is trying to walk back its potentially disastrous pause on all federal spending — which could include loans & grants that help small businesses. These impactful programs are for everyone with an American startup dream. Fear & uncertainty are toxic for Main Street.

Devastating news in DC as all those involved in last night’s mid-air collision are feared dead — and all this made more painful by the chaos of unfounded political attacks on “DEI.” We have to be better than this. Keeping the victims and their loved ones in my prayers.

We’re clearly not out of the woods on inflation yet. And if the president imposes sweeping tariffs, economists believe prices could shoot up even further — not to mention the potentially catastrophic inflationary effects of mass deportations.

So great to see #Grammys2025 lifting up fire-impacted small businesses across Los Angeles. These business owners have been through so much. Let’s cheer them on as they get back on their feet!
