Not surprising but still disappointing to see the PhD funding landscape in Ireland. How are we meant to attract and retain talented researchers? A deeply inequitable system regarding who can do a PhD in Ireland 🤞for real progress with the ongoing public consultation process

An increase in the PhD stipend to €25k is a welcome announcement to PhDs but it must be brought in urgently and needs to be for all PhDs, not just state funded bodies. This cannot be used to ignore the countless other serious issues PGRs face. irishtimes.com/ireland/educat… 1/3
