Today, our Head of Discipline @ProfOrtuno presented our Ussher Assistant Professor in InflammAging Nollaig Bourke with her own academic gown, in the presence of her lab members. This is how we celebrate achievement of academic tenure in our Discipline. Congratulations Nollaig!!🥳

Important turnout today for the PWO Ireland #PhD protest! 🔨Paid below min. wage👎 ❌ No sick leave, ❌ No maternity leave, ❌ No PRSI, ❌ No contract, ❌ Worse for non-EU🤦 There is no point in "scholarships" if only wealthy people can afford to take them! #PGRsDeserveBetter

Very excited to see this study that Paul Hertzog and I led on interferon epsilon and ovarian cancer published in nature! And particularly delighted for Zoe RC Marks and DrNicoleCampbell.bsky.social, joint first authors, whose incredible PhD and postdoc work respectively made this study possible.

So proud of our lab scooping a few prizes at Irish Thoracic Society last Friday! Go on the TB Lab!! 🫁🎉🫁🐞🦠

Walking home from St James's Hospital not a care in the world, and it breaks me heart knowing that half of the staff in there can't be afforded the same privilege because of where they're from!!

I'm absolutely ecstatic to share that I passed my PhD viva voce. I couldn't have made it through this journey without my incredible supervisor Sharee Ann Basdeo and my amazing lab. Thank you so much to Eva Kaufmann and FreddieMac(rophage) for examining me and Nollaig Bourke for chairing ✨
