About an hour after the last race ever at Pompano (approx 1:15 am April 18), I was fortunate to get a pic with the KING of the Pomp at the finish & after the finish. So happy Walter Wlodarczyk was there to document the end, & brought back so many great memories when he sent it to me.

Pompano Park's rock star outrider/pony combo, Camilla and Simon (JC El Simon, by Holy Bull), moved to Camilla's native Sweden. I think Camilla is the first outrider over there, in a country that loves its harness racing. Bravo, Camilla and Simon! MISS YOU! Pompano Park Racing

Got some terrible news a little earlier… our man Simon, a fixture at Pompano along with Camilla for years, was injured today & could not be saved. He was trying to save a loose horse in Sweden, where Camilla returned after The Pomp closed.

Deepest condolences to Camilla Olsson on the loss of her beloved rock star SIMON, an Pompano Park Racing legend and recently a rock star as the first SB outrider pony in Camilla's native Sweden. The dearly loved Simon suffered a fatal injury related to a loose horse, while on the job.
