Tonight we kicked off our Reds on the Green programme joint with Islington Council exploring the life of radical John Wilkes We enjoyed a fascinating telling of his biography from The Georgian Lords interspersed with theatrical readings from Wilkes’ speeches & articles by Michael Elwyn


2/2. The 1819 view is by Augustus Charles Pugin, artist, draughtsman and father of Augustus Welby Pugin (leading light of 19th century Gothic Revival architecture). This print, and others, are in the excellent 'Our Islington' exhibition at the Islington Museum on St John Street.
