Congrats to our Ethiopian partner for getting research into policy! Based on studies by University of Gondar, MSF Science, Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative & Indian partners, World Health Organization (WHO) has published new treatment recommendations for visceral #leishmaniasis in patients who are coinfected with #HIV. 1/2 bit.ly/3Or5Ffo



Ethiopia has the third highest burden of neglected #tropicaldiseases in #Africa. ITM, World Health Organization (WHO)-TDR & University of Gondar have successfully been strengthening research capacities through trainings to enable improvements in #NTD interventions. #beatNTDs itg.be/E/Article/dontā¦


Proud of our Ochollo project team at the recent dissemination meeting. We studied efficacy and impact of community treatment for CL with Arba Minch University. Community leaders, traditional healers, HEW, academics, and regional/zonal health bureau officials discussed the way forward.


Which #visceralleishmaniasis patients are at risk of poor outcomes? A big clinical study in Ethiopia was started with University of Gondar #LRTC & Institute of Tropical Medicine Antwerp with the aim to develop a prognostic score to predict poor treatment outcomes #beatNTDs
