What exactly is his definition of real science? My definition is what my cousin did years ago. He was behind all the research into Salmonella in eggs which has led to the UK being almost completely Salmonella free in poultry. It took years of detailed study. That's science.

I was thinking about the UK TV licence. The UK is not the only country that has one - several in Europe do. France abolished theirs three years back and instead fund through VAT. It is an interesting idea, because it means that EVERYONE pays it, whether they have a TV or not.
