Great job by Britney Harris presenting WVU Surgery data on the use of oral agents for MAP pushed after SCI. Short answer, start pseudoephedrine early to get off the pressors. #ASC2023

A follow-up to our group's previous paper - using the CARES dataset, we found that use of the iGel was associated with improved neurologically favorable (CPC1/2) survival in comparison to use of the King-LT. resuscitationjournal.com/article/S0300-… Cardiac Arrest Registry to Enhance Survival (CARES Jim Bardes

New collab. with WVU Emergency Medicine and Pitt Health Sciences. Rearrest is common (~1/3 of all pts w/ ROSC) and associated with survival (8% w/ vs. 26% w/o rearrest). Agency-level rearrest rate was variable and associated with agency-level mortality. doi.org/10.1016/j.resu…

Using data from the US, Canada, Japan, and South Korea, our point estimate of the independent association between #rearrest and mortality suggests that preventing 5 rearrests may prevent 1 death prior to hospital d/c. #SystematicReview #MetaAnalysis tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10…
