Excited to see more OK schools take advantage of this USDA funded opportunity. I expect more news like this due to a very wonky tech policy option the state took last year (and that Hunger Free Oklahoma advocated for) that uses data to make it easier for schools to adopt this program.


Oklahoma ranks 46th in the nation in child well-being according to the latest Kids Count Survey from Oklahoma Policy Institute. We rank: -39th in economic well-being -45th in health -49th in education -76% of 4th graders aren't proficient in reading -84% of 8th graders aren't proficient in math

Today at the #HungryForActionOK Conference, USDA’s Senior Policy Advisor Sakeenah Shabazz took part in a panel titled “Nourishing Oklahoma: The Power of Collaboration.” She was joined by a diverse group of OK partners including Hunger Free Oklahoma, Cherokee Nation, and The Muscogee Nation.
