A joyful & rejuvenating weekend! One person said the whole weekend felt like a long-standing tradition & not our inaugural fest. One we all look forward to each year. My heart was full by end & Im deeply grateful to have been a part of it. Hats off to Daniel Fitzpatrick & Jordan Haddad

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of attending the Joie de Vivre festival down in Covington - a highlight (one of many) was Tim Gautreaux's keynote, and the chance to talk with him. More: amywelborn.wordpress.com/2025/05/23/tim…

Really grateful to @jdvjournal for this beautiful reprint of the first chapter of #ToCrownwithLiberty in their spring issue, as well as for hosting me for their May book club last night. It’s so wonderful to see Catholic arts and letters flourishing in Louisiana!

Speaking of Harder, I have versions of a couple of his poems forthcoming in Joie de Vivre. Harder is very, very good. I also have a version of an epigram of his about Martial that I hope will appear somewhere someday.

It’s a treat to have a poem published in Joie de Vivre — the issues are full of beautiful art, including custom illustrations for each original poem. Many thanks to editor Daniel Fitzpatrick!

"We have a demand for the participation, through the object created, in something which is itself spiritual in nature." "Creative Intuition, Virtue, and the Possibility of Christian Art" by Hannah Woldum Ragusa, Ph.D. jdvjournal.com/archive/creati…

In the present day, we tend to hear the word “art” & think of the thing produced…But in the philosophical tradition running from Aristotle to Aquinas to Jacques Maritain… art is one of the five intellectual virtues that pertain to the perfection of the intellect. ~Dr. H. Ragusa
