I am extremely excited that this paper is out. We find further evidence of important avian anatomy in non-avian dinosaurs (the pisiform). And what's particularly fun is that was not why either Dr. James G. Napoli or I were originally looking at the relevant specimens!



My friends Dr. James G. Napoli and Alexander Ruebenstahl recently published on a cool new find that a tiny little bone in the wrists of birds tied to flight has its origins, not just in dinosaurs, but in non bird ancestors like oviraptorosaurs and troodontids.
