Strongly recommend this piece on taking pleasure seriously in public health work around alcohol. Lots to discuss - what works in alcohol policy debate, whether/how we can incorporate pleasure into public health research, and why previous work on pleasure hasn't gained traction.

People sometimes claim alcohol mostly causes 'rare' cancers. This simply isn't true. Alcohol causes both breast and bowel cancer, two of the most common forms. These also aren't rare alcohol-related cancers; they account for a third of all cases. doi.org/10.1016/S1470-…
