Bee under UV-light (365nm) In reality (for the human eye), the eyes shine much more than the hair. There is probably a shift in the wavelengths inside the camera. But still an interesting perspective. Heading up for eggs and caterpillars. 😍

Arizona poppy pollen on #Protoxaea gloriosa. Yep, the fluorescent orange #Kallstroemia grandiflora, has fluorescent orange pollen and this bee loves it and becomes also fluorescent orange.

I tried a slightly different perspective on this cuckoo wasp. And it's the first time that, thanks to the dark area between the head and chest, I was able to clearly show the transparent hairs. ⠀ #️⃣594 single shots with 2⁣µm steps⠀ ⠀ #cuckoo #cuckoowasp #macro #makro #insects

A really good article that came out today. #Insects are important and many are disappearing from Earth. What should we do? graphics.reuters.com/GLOBAL-ENVIRON…

Dock bug, Coreus marginatus. I had the type of mounting in my head and absolutely wanted to implement it. Took a while ... but it worked. #dockbug #lederwanze #bug #wanze #lederwanze

This will always please and trouble me in equal measure. Hemipteran eggs crammed with parasitoid wasps (probably Telenomus sp.) ready to emerge. ZOOM IN. The whole clutch was done in. This befalls a good proportion of all insect eggs.
