Great first day at GCMAS. Steve from Biomedical AI Lab at UNT presented our collaborative work using a deep learning autoencoder model to compresses gait data into a single score capable of assessing gait quality. I'm looking forward to presenting our multicenter Shriners Children's work tomorrow!

Marquette & MCW Joint Dept. of Biomedical Eng. students tested our biplane fluoroscopy equipment in person yesterday. They're taking part in an OREC study to better understand how hindfoot morphology contributes to alterations in tibiotalar and subtalar kinematics.

I'm excited to see the Shriners Children's Gait Model published as part of the Gait & Posture standards issue. This model is the consensus standard developed by a team of engineers and physical therapists across our 14 motion analysis centers. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Though the primary goal for limb length discrepancy management is to equalize leg lengths, symmetry between corresponding long bones is usually not achieved, leading to knee height asymmetry (KHA). Our study analyzed the impact of KHA on gait biomechanics. journals.lww.com/pedorthopaedic…
