So, a little public service message. Influenza is hitting hard this year. Infact, over 60% of my unit is patients on ventilators from influenza pneumonia or bacterial secondary infections after influenza. The major circulating strain is H1N1 which is included in this years shot.

Well, the low vaccination rate here in AB (lowest in many years apparently) and the highest in years hospitalization rate for influenza are a matched set of badness. We can improve things - if you haven’t, still get vaccinated so it isn’t WORSE. It’s alarming there was 1/
