Happening now: advocates and people who use drugs are rallying at Main and Hastings, demanding an end to the drug war, and the provision of clean drugs like heroin and cocaine alongside BCs safe supply program:

Drug user activists have blocked off the corner of Hastings and Dunlevy and are giving out free (tested) cocaine and opium to draw attention to their call for a safer supply

I think that the transition from people who use criminalized drugs being seen as ‘bad’ to being increasingly seen as ‘sick’ is having a negative impact on the fight for more humane drug policy/

These anti-stigma campaigns are brutal and offensive. If the resources of “ anti-stigma” were shifted to informing on evidence-based drug policy advertisements, that would be real anti-stigma.
