#whyphetewednesday Earlier this month, @jmuphete faculty members Dr. McKay and Dr. Gano-Overway, along with JMU College of Health and Behavioral Studies Associate Dean Dr. Hochstetler, attended and presented research at the National Association for Kinesiology in Higher Ed conference in Puerto Rico.

Last week, JMU PHETE (Physical & Health Education Teacher Ed) students took part in the 9th annual Paralympic Skill Lab. Students participated in Parasport education stations led by the Cville Cardinals & Team USA athletes @treyjenifer, Mindy Cook, Ryan Neiswender & nicole nieves USA GOALBALL USA Volleyball NWBA


Last week, JMU PHETE (Physical & Health Education Teacher Ed) students and faculty attended the SHAPE America National Convention. Senior Emma Hunter was awarded the Major of the Year Award and faculty member Cathy McKay was recognized as Mentor of the Year. #SHAPEBaltimore was outstanding! #whyphetewednesday

Earlier this semester, JMU PHETE (Physical & Health Education Teacher Ed) students joined Dr. Gano-Overway and Bobby Lifka to lead activities for the Valley Scholars program. Activities focused on health and wellness, as well as career paths in physical and behavioral health fields. #whyphetewednesday
