My early team camp assessment is the same as it is every single year… Spacing, spacing, spacing! High school teams that space the floor and shoot open catch and shoot shots almost always win. Stop over dribbling and driving into the teeth of the defense every possession!

Coach Bryon Lawhon So glad you brought this up. I saw this more times than I could count the past 2 summers & it drove me crazy. I honestly wish they would kick them out if they break this rule. I saw coaches intending to watch our games but leave when they saw parents/AAU coaches in their seats.

This was the moment of the night for me -- Javon Small's grandfather overcome with emotion while watching the Grizzlies select his grandson 48th overall. "That's my boy!" (Proud grandpas are the best.)

A few extremely important questions EVERY recruit should ask themselves when assessing their game: How do I affect the game outside of scoring? Do I make my teammates better? Am i an energy giver or an energy vampire? Am I coachable? Can I be coached hard?

What if all of us non D1 coaches walked around saying we are D1 coaches just because we think we can/should be? Silly, right? That’s how some of y’all sound telling us you or your kid is D1, but he doesn’t have a D1 offer. You are, at the moment, what you have.
