Some very early score prep this morning, ahead of a performance this afternoon, with SWCS, of Aaron Copland's Old American Songs It will also include a unison voices version of a ditty by me, so I couldn't resist a little sing... you know, since the outfit was right.

Catching up on BBC Radio 3 Breakfast late today, but still sending Petroc Trelawny very many good wishes for his move to In Tune. He has added a touch of class to my morning commute for many a year, and will now improve my evening drive as I leave Maida Vale each day. Toi x 3 šŸ‘

Hearing The Hanover Band band preparing their Bach St John Passion, ahead of a concert this coming Saturday, in Steyning. Just magic from that opening chorus! Looking forward to seeing my #Sussex based friends there.

The joys of working with a small village choir... in what other circumstance would I be moved to compose a setting of Drop, Drop, Slow Tears for unison voices, with descant, oboe solo, and jazz piano? All of this has then been distilled into a version for unaccompanied SSATBB.

If you're able, head over to St Bride's, Fleet Street at 1.15 today, to hear the fabulous Helen Neeves Soprano and Richard Pearce perform a selection of my songs, including my cycle Sing My Name. Very sorry not to be there in person, but sending best wishes.
