Many things in life are taken for granted by those who have them and deeply desired by those who don’t. With kids, it’s the opposite: those with without them often fail to appreciate what they’re missing out on.

This is where Marketing comes in. AI models will find a way to differentiate themselves from one another in accordance with segment dynamics, even if these differences are mostly superficial.

It is pleasurable to read thought provoking fiction (or, in this case, a parable) regardless of if it is written by a human or an AI. If you need a human to be a creator, then you are missing out as a consumer.

Just get to the airport early. Find a seat and read or do work. If you have kids, let them run around near you. As an added bonus, you don't have to deal with the stress of long lines (or trying to rush your own children). The downsides of being early are minimal.

I asked Paul Buchheit how they came up with the idea for Gmail to use an invite-only waitlist. (Which was essentially the first software ever to do that!) His response: (Posted with permission)

Over the last three years, housebuilding in London has collapsed. Molior recorded just 2,158 private starts in the first half of 2025, around 5% of London’s (low) targets, and still falling. What is going on? I have posed this question to numerous specialists, most of whom

Who’s the poster child of a “reputational martyr”: someone who knowingly sacrificed their reputation in service of the greater good?

I long for fiction (novels, tv, etc.) that reflects upon the more disturbing forces of our time. Seems like there's plenty of room for powerful and profound stories that extend beyond what's come before.
