🎉 ATLASea Milestone✅ We’re thrilled to announce that ATLASea has already collected over 1⃣0⃣0⃣0⃣ species across 5 sampling expeditions to the Mediterranean, Caribbean, South Pacific with Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle, English Channel with Ifremer 🌊 and Dinard in Brittany with all partners!

An international team of researchers, led by the CNRS 🌍 and the Institut de Biologie François Jacob and funded by France Génomique, analyzed 60 new genomes of brown algae. doi.org/10.1016/j.cell…

📢 The ATLASea Scientific Advisory Board meeting took place at Maison de l'Océan in Paris over the past 2 days. A big thank you to all SAB members for their active participation, valuable insights, and dedication to advancing the project and to MuséeOcéanographique for the meeting room!

The latest hifiasm can directly assemble standard Oxford Nanopore simplex R10 reads, without HERRO correction or other preprocessing, to phased contigs of contiguity comparable to HiFi assembly. Like before, you can further add ultra-long, Hi-C or trio data for better assembly.

Our hitchhiking paper is out at genomebiology.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11… - a great collaborative effort with Prasadms Josipa Lipovac, FilipTomas13 JJ Liu. Briefly, Oxford Nanopore is enough for high-quality human genomes. Recently, HERRO showed that even UL is sufficient. 1/3

For those working with Hi-C data and the Arima Genomics workflow, we have rewritten the Arima tools using htslib to speed up the process. Any feedback is welcome: github.com/Genoscope-LBGB…
