Starting later today I am going to start a weekly look at soybean growth and development in Oklahoma this season, discussing management along the way. Share or follow to join me along the way to the year in the life of a soybean.

Soybean that was planted last Monday (May 27th) was at the VE to VC stage or emergence through cotyledon stage this week. Similar to cotton but unlike crops like corn, sorghum, or wheat, the growth point is exposed and damage can inhibit further development.

Josh Lofton crew showed up this morning to put in the #OSU grain sorghum variety trial. 34 varieties going in this year's trial. Daughter Kate Leeper came with them and I was able to meet Josie Rice, Chase & Tori. Always nice to put a face to a name. #supersorghum
