Incredible and inspiring work done by one of my mentors Robert Gross. The future of #depression and #neurosurgery continues to look brighter! Emory Neurosurgery

Another risk of being a healthcare worker in covid times: brother-in-law (resident Mayo Clinic) possibly exposed and having to quarantine from his new baby.

Very excited to shout into the Twittersphere that Bryan Ulrich, Matt Studer, Gustavo Pradilla, and I were awarded an Emory Medical Care Foundation grant today for our project investigating cell-free DNA in patients with meningioma! #liquidbiopsy is the future Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University

Today's #SeniorSpotlight is Jenna Mcmahon MD! After residency, Dr. McMahon will be going on to begin her academic pediatric fellowship at Vanderbilt School of Medicine. Congratulations! #tweetiatrician #MedEd

Surgical revascularization for Sickle Cell-associated Moyamoya Syndrome may offer better outcomes than medical therapy alone. Once again grateful for the mentorship of @ShNooms jgmalcolm Gustavo Pradilla Emory Neurosurgery. CNS Brigham and Women's Neurosurgery journals.lww.com/neurosurgery/A…

Was fortunate enough to play a small part in this patient’s care in the ICU. Awesome to see her doing so well. Stories like this are what make #neurosurgery great 🙏 Brigham and Women's Neurosurgery Harvard Medical School Nirav J Patel, MD

⏰⏰⏰ High Impact paper RESCUEICP 24 month results JAMA Neurology Prior paper showed DHC > medical tx for severe #TBI with refractory ICP > 25mmHg. Now: from 12-24 months, 30% of DHC improved ≥1 GOSE point vs 15% non surgical. Aggressive surgery in severe #TBI is the way.

Turns out doing research with your friends (Bryan Ulrich + Matt Studer) makes the job more fun. Stoked to finally see this in print and cant wait to see where the field goes next. Thanks to Gustavo Pradilla for the support. Brigham and Women's Neurosurgery Emory Neurosurgery journals.lww.com/neurosurgery/A…
