A privilege to be a part of this amazing team in Pharmacology Oxford for the last six months. It has been great to play a role in building this lab!

Did you miss this? A new study led by Professor Tim Walsh at the Department of Biology and Ineos Oxford Institute for Antimicrobial Research shows that antimicrobial resistant bacteria are present in newborn babies a few hours after birth bit.ly/3QqHKh0

Finally an ‘official’ DPhil student in the Lanyon-Hogg group (Pharmacology Oxford) and Walsh group (Ineos Oxford Institute for Antimicrobial Research) on the Chemistry in Cells course!

Pre-existing Aspergillus/ABPA is associated with increased rates of hospitalisation and sepsis during COVID-19 in people with Cystic Fibrosis. A great collaboration with MRC Centre for Medical Mycology and @ECFSRegistry now published in Journal of CF. Read more: tinyurl.com/uudappec @Adilia76645023

In the first study of its kind, scientists at the IOI and Department of Pharmacology at University of Oxford have developed a new molecule that can suppress the evolution of resistance in bacteria by blocking their 'SOS response' 🦠 Find out more ➡️ ow.ly/VARv50RSp08

The first paper from our lab is out now in Chemical Science: "Development of an inhibitor of the mutagenic SOS response that suppresses the evolution of quinolone antibiotic resistance" Chemical Science #MyFirstChemSci pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art…

The University of Oxford has published a summary of the Tom Lanyon-Hogg group's new paper! Read the article below, and read the full text published in Chemical Science for free: doi.org/10.1039/D4SC00…
