I remember being 7 years old and watching the man who played Capt Kirk on TV. Today I got the chance to chat with the real life astronaut William Shatner and it was out of this world. Talked about organocatalysis, blue origin & carbon removal and he even said hi to Jim McCusker!

Had a fantastic weekend in Princeton celebrating Dave's Nobel! It was amazing to reconnect with so many old friends (like Tao Wang, pictured) and group alumni (>75!)- an unforgettable experience. David MacMillan MacMillan Group

cen.acs.org/biological-che… Hidden "-omes" lie beyond our technological horizons. This is a highly underrated problem in chemical biology.

Our TIMSTof Pro 2 (a cutting edge LCMS for proteomics) is now installed and fully operational! Here is a picture of Alan, the Bruker rep, manuvering it with help from Maxim and Zahir. It extends vertically into the ceiling, as all awesome instruments should.

Me: Can I have a #structure of my #protein of interest? Alphafold: We have it in the #database, no need to make new one. Structure in the database:

Amazing to see a plan come together! This paper unambiguously shows the tight labeling radius of antibody-targeted µMap labeling compared to other methods, and how reactive intermediate lifetime can be exploited to tune proximity labeling radii. pnas.org/doi/abs/10.107…

Excited to share our latest work out today in J. Am. Chem. Soc. using µMap to identify new SARS-CoV-2 entry receptors on human cells. Great collaboration between Jacob Geri, MacMillan Group and the Alexander Ploss, and hugely enabling for discovering new COVID biology.. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja…

I was really impressed by the recent crop of text prompt to image AI tools and wanted to see how they would depict molecular interactions. Needless to say, I'll stick with Illustrator for now. Prompt: "MDM2 interacting with a peptide" Result (DALL-E 2):
