U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent commented on China's decision to increase tariffs on U.S. exports to 84%, saying: "They can raise their tariffs but so what?" For reference, China annually imports approximately $165 billion in goods from the United States.

China today released a white paper titled “China's Position on Some Issues Concerning China-US Economic, Trade Relations.” No, it’s not about setting the record straight as it claims. It’s a retaliation wishlist—and a catalog of Beijing’s deepest trade fears.

I’m deeply proud of my congressman Rep. Jeff Hurd fighting for the right of Congress to determine taxes. Whatever you make of the tariffs, the right to levy taxes belongs to the legislature. The founders would roll in their graves if they knew POTUS could set tariffs on his own.

Noteworthy IMO as a US-China military analyst - POTUS is basically already doing what he said he'd do to prevent China from invading Taiwan. đŸ€”

Of course - China would say it didn’t care that there was an embargo on Chinese goods by it’s #1 customer but a 1trn surplus country with manufacturing share of GDP key to investment and consumption & indirect sector like services would care. Why? Factories shut first (impact on

There are 277,000 Chinese students at US universities. Their intellectual, economic, and social contributions to this country are beyond measure. If we “aggressively revoke” Chinese student visas, this will hurt us as much as it hurts them.
